This week the COACH project has launched five policy briefs, making recommendations to policy makers at the EU, national and local level on how to support local food chains.
The policy briefs, developed by different partners of the COACH project, are based on four themes, which have been identified as key policy areas for transforming local food chains:
- European Sustainable Food Systems Law
- Costs and benefits for small farmers engaged in short food chains
- Public procurement of healthy, sustainable food sourced from small farmers at both a local and European level
- Free school meals for all children sourced from small-scale farmers
